The Recreation Rundown is issued every other Friday to all subscribers to the Tarrytown Link Newsletter. The Rundown is designed to keep residents informed about Recreational news, programming, activities, and events happening in the community. 2023 was a big year for the Recreation Department. We welcomed a new Camp Director and Recreation Leader, installed brand new basketball hoops at the Pierson Park courts, hosted an estimated 15-20 thousand spectators at our annual Halloween Parade, improved upon many of your traditional favorite programs, and added 15 new programs to our seasonal lineup! As we look forward to even bigger and better things in 2024, we wanted to share some of our favorite photos from our activities over the past 12 months.

Participants create spooky works of art during the Halloween Window Painting program (above). Brand new regulation sized hoops and backboards are installed at Pierson Park (right.) Before taking a dip in the pool for the first time ever, pooches are judged in various categories at our puppy parade (below).

The first ever Adults Only Luau Party at the pool features a live DJ and tropical mocktails (above). Performers from the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater offer a free workshop in Pierson Park in celebration of Juneteenth (right). Spectators at Pierson Park and along the Riverwalk are treated to a new and improved fireworks display on July 4th (below).

Over 15,000 spectators turn out for the Halloween Parade (above.) Trunk or Treat & Movie Night kicks off Halloween in Tarrytown (left). Families build scarecrows to decorate the village at our annual Scarecrow Making event (below).

Campers are treated to several days of fun this summer, including a chance to meet real life superheroes during "Super Hero Week" (above) and a visit from the NY Islanders at Field Day (below).

Expanded Fitness Center offerings in 2023 included Yoga classes on Saturday mornings and Monday evenings with our instructor Anne (left). Tarrytown Rec & Sleepy Hollow Rec join forces to host our annual Egg Hunt in Patriot's Park (above).

We're looking forward to even more fun in 2024!
