A New Ride for the Tarrytown Seniors

Tuesday, December 5, 2023 marked a new day with a new ride for the Tarrytown Seniors. Thanks to a grant award through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant Program, the Village of Tarrytown received $100,000 toward the purchase of a new Senior Shuttle Bus. Village and County officials joined members of the Tarrytown Seniors gathering outside the Tarrytown Senior Center to officially cut the ribbon, welcoming the new vehicle to the Village. After a few words from officials and a blessing from Tarrytown Seniors member Diane Pratt, the shuttle took some of those in attendance on the ceremonial first ride.

After the first 10 days, it's been nothing but positive feedback from the seniors.

If you are a senior citizen living in Tarrytown and need a ride to a local doctor's appointment, grocery store, or gathering, please give the Recreation Department a call at (914) 631-8347 to schedule a ride. The Senior Shuttle operates Monday-Friday between 9:00 AM - 12:00 noon for medical appointments, and takes passengers to pre-scheduled destinations on designated weekday afternoons.

"On behalf of the Tarrytown Seniors, I would like to thank all those involved in the process of bringing the new Senior Shuttle to Tarrytown. I know that our members are all very excited to take a ride.
