21st Annual Tarrytown Halloween Parade

After winning the award for Best Local Parade seven years running by Westchester Magazine, the Annual Tarrytown Halloween Parade will kick off its 21st season this Saturday, October 28th at 5:30pm from Patriots Park in Tarrytown. Featuring cash prizes for best costumes and floats, the parade will culminate with a massive block party on Main Street. Clare Maloney and The Great Adventure will be performing live and DJ Chris Vernia with Double Image spinning bone-chilling hits.

This year the parade’s Grand Marshal is Dr. Emil Nigro who served 40 years as the Medical Director of the Tarrytown Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Grand Marshal Aid Eileen Eagan is the Executive Director of Phelps Hospital and she will be traveling with Dr. Geller and Dr. Thakar of Phelps.

For Participants:

For all the marching ghouls and goblins assembly time 3:30 PM to 5:00PM at Patriot’s Park. Parade will commence marching at 5:30 PM. Please try to park in the school parking lots at Paulding or the High School/Middle School if driving to the parade.

For Spectators:

Try to arrive early. Performances by the Tarrytown Music Hall and others will take place on Main street for those waiting for the parade. Once it begins, the Parade will proceed south on route 9 (Broadway) and turn onto Main Street toward the Tarrytown Fire Department Hope Hose Company No.1 – Engine 79.

Street closures:

  • MAIN STREET will be closed for parking and vehicular traffic beginning at 3pm on Saturday, October 28th, and will remain closed until the end of the block party (approximately 11pm).
  • The MINI-LOT off of Main Street (next to the South Washington Street Lot), will be closed for parking at 3pm.
  • BROADWAY will be closed from 5pm to approximately 7:30pm from Main Street to College Avenue. Please avoid this area at all costs at this time if you are not attending the parade.

Parking :

As always, the best way to get to the parade festivities would be without the use of a car - walk or train if coming from out of town. If driving, please be aware that Cortlandt Street in Sleepy Hollow will be closed for a block party that night, and turning left on to Broadway is a challenge from Central, so the best way to exit the parade if parked west of Broadway will be via Franklin Street. Plan to turn right on Broadway and make your way from there via Benedict or otherwise.
