Air Quality Poor in Tarrytown: Take Precautions

Wildfires in Canada are causing haze and high levels of particulate matter in the air of the northeastern United States including Tarrytown.

AirNow.Gov is a website you can check to assess current air quality.

As of this morning, the level of particulate matter in the air registers at 174 in Tarrytown.

Anything over 100 is considered unhealthy, and vulnerable populations - including seniors, children, and those with heart or lung conditions - should avoid going outside. When the levels are over 150, everyone should consider wearing a high quality mask when outside.

For more information about air quality, and staying safe when air pollution levels are poor, visit the EPA Air Now website or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
